1st Sight

1st sight

2,5,4,3 was done .. lol .. yeah .. now it's time for Number 1.

What's there in Number 1 ?

Everyone wants to be Number 1 .. well, yes , no or maybe.. That depends on how you feel about the value of Number 1 .. I immediately remembered the comedy of a Tamil Movie, where our Super Star would explain to a press reporter that 2 > 1 , so second rank is better than first rank..

Wait... it's not about the 1st rank... it's about the First Impression... when you see a person for the first time, we tend to match with our old memories and intelligence just to Judge them..
I haven't thought whether it's right or wrong way..
it does have some benefits though we might have different views..

1st impression helps to get placed in an aspiring company for any job seeker..

We still have the saying in Tamil- " Aall paadhi, aadai paathi (Equal importance is given to the person and his dressing)"

I see it as "Marketing Strategy" to impress and do the sales pitch  ;)

I am impressed with the packaging of the chocolate more than the chocolate taste itself at times.. That's consumer is made to tempt.. At the same, i am also believe in core values/logics than just packaging..
Core values help to improve the relationship.
Best package will get "First Time" buyers but not "Repeated Customer"..

Well, why i am talking about the products , packaging and marketing here , instead of talking about people??

Let me tell.. because it's at the end of the day , all these products are targeted for the "People" 😀

Knowingly or unknowingly, we are been trained to decide based on "First Impression" .

I too judge other people based on first impressions. I still remember when my friend first came to office.. On her first day to office, she was just a stranger to me.

On her first day, we both were traveling together in the local electric train.. She was sitting opposite to me , neatly dressed , with a stylish handbag and a pleasant makeup.
I instantly liked her. She asked to help when the particular station arrives.. I helped her to identify and then, i just went for the work without thinking much. I didn't knew that she would be joining the same office as mine.
Then few days later, i saw her in the same timings train, she was wearing the ID card of the same company. Slowly, as days passes by, we tend to travel in same places at same time.. She used to read many bigger books of philosophy, thriller and many other genre. My impression on her strongly grew up positively. There was one more common thing which bonded us over time, it was iPhone 5 😀 . It might sound crazy, yet yes, true .. our next (probably first ignoring previous enquiries) real conversations started on the note of "iPhone's cover design" .. later we became good friends and even changing working places , we still connected to each other.

Yes first impression definitely makes an interesting impact.

However first impression gives the first entry token to a concert, only if the songs are good, you will enjoy it orelse we need to switch over to better concerts next time 😀

But, I have experienced quite opposite to this also..
When i was doing my bachelors degree and appearing for campus placements, it's a regular phenomenon that we are supposed to dress up neatly and try to win over the offer placed by companies..
On July 20, (some years ago , but i remembered the date exactly even after so many years) , I attended my 1st (again story of number 1 , but in a different way) placement meeting hosted by a Bangalore based small company at my college campus.
I dressed up neatly and went .. After clearing written tests, group discussions, 1st round of interview also. In the final round of interview, it didn't go in the way i expected as the job description didn't match for whatever reasons and I didn't get the offer. I was pretty much disappointed. Then, next biggest opportunity of a company placements came in. I was quite unhappy that I didn't get placed in 1st company.
To this 'Big' company placements, I just dressed the way I normally go to college and i was having fever, the previous day which makes me to look dull. I didn't mind that and went to college to attend placements with my certificate packages.
Even my friends were asking me about looking dull in comparison with the first one. I said, let me handle with my knowledge, not to depend on first impression created by my dressings to them. As per my planning/intuition or whatever, the interviewer never judged me by the way I dressed, he judged me only the way I answered and to my surprise, i outperformed the interview in comparison to the trial happened inside my brain when i was waiting for my turn. I still remember, how my friends remembered or even by-hearted the answers to the common question- "Please tell me about yourself ".
I decided not to rehearse that, I just mentally note what are the possible hints could lead to the story telling way. I just went with the flow and I could visibly sense that the interviewers were impressed by my explanations to logics and analyses of problems. I walked out confidently bidding "Meet you Soon" rather than "Thank you" to them.
As i got the gut feeling or intuition, i was right. I got placed in the 'Big' company and the "Ever Happy Journey" continued 😀

So, Number one is least of all in terms of quantity when the discrete positive counts are considered, yet it has the much
Quality added to it unknowingly 😀
We can't exclude, we can just experience the Power of One 😀
